About the WVWA
The
Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association is a non-profit land trust
founded in 1957 to protect the quality and the beauty of the Wissahickon
Creek.
For more than fifty years the Association has made a critical
difference in protecting the local environment in the 64 square miles of
the Creek’s watershed. WVWA has worked with landowners, local
municipalities, Montgomery County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
to preserve and improve woods, meadows and wetlands that are a part of
the Wissahickon Watershed. By 2007, WVWA had protected over 1,100 acres
of natural, open space.
Support for the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association comes from
the watershed community, through membership gifts and corporate and
foundation grants.
