Education

Sharing the importance of environmental stewardship with the community is an integral part of the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association (WVWA) mission.  The WVWA environmental education program encourages adults and youth to develop and maintain the awareness, knowledge and enthusiasm to understand important environmental concerns impacting our local watershed.

WVWA academic enrichment programs work in partnership with local school districts and local private schools to support and enhance student curriculum. These programs are developed in conjunction with PA state standards and local curriculum guidelines.

Community education occurs throughout the calendar year including classroom topics, field walks and other educational activities designed to increase public awareness and knowledge of environmental issues within the watershed.
