  • Trail Steward Hike - Ambler Connection

    Pre-registration closed - meet at Forest & Main


    Join Trail Steward Harm Scherpbier on a 2-mile exploration of the Green Ribbon Trail from Ambler Borough. This hike will show you 3 ways to connect from Ambler into the Green Ribbon trail. We’ll begin and end at Forest and Main, staying for a drink after the hike!

  • Learning Bird Song Workshop

    Take your birding skills to the next level by learning to identify birds by their songs. This workshop will focus on learning the songs of several common breeders with a dose of migrating warblers for good measure.

    Season Opener
    Start the 2018 season and feel the excitement of rumbling stones, hear the splash of water over the wheel, and witness the cornmeal as it spills down a chute and into a barrel below.

    Join us for the latest Nature Journal Club outing. We will have access to the Arboretum at the Temple Ambler Campus for this event. We will be focusing on leaves and flowers (hopefully some will be out!), and anything else that catches our attention.

  • Lecture: Mills of the Wissahickon

    David Contosta will give an illustrated talk about the mills of the Wissahickon Valley, including their role in the American industrial revolution and their importance to the early economy of the Philadelphia region. He will also touch on the ecological damage done by the mills and the reasons for their demise and final demolition by the Fairmount Park Commission.

  • 8-Mile Green Ribbon Trail Hike

    Join us for a guided 8-mile hike headed upstream (then back downstream!) on the Green Ribbon Trail. The hike will begin and end at WVWA Headquarters at Four Mills Reserve.

  • Serve the Preserve

    This service project is full. 

    Help WVWA continue our restoration efforts this spring at Camp Woods Preserve. Volunteers will remove invasive plants and plant native trees and shrubs. Please wear sturdy shoes for digging, and bring a shovel and gloves if you have them; otherwise we will provide.

  • Film Screening: Hometown Habitat - The Meadow Project

    6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

    All of us have the power to support habitat for wildlife and bring natural beauty to our patch of the earth. WVWA and Upper Dublin Township present this 90-minute film showing how humans and nature can co-exist with mutual benefits. 

  • Creating a Butterfly Garden

    7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
    Ann Laughlin of Eco-Chic Gardens will cover the basics of creating a pollinator-friendly garden and yard using native plants that will attract and benefit butterflies, hummingbirds, moths, bees and more! We will discuss the needs of pollinators based on their lifecycles as well as plant selection and design.
