  • Evans-Mumbower Mill

    The Ghost of Henry Mumbower & Pumpkin Painting

    5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

    Don’t miss this slightly spooky but fun evening when old Henry Mumbower and his family revisit his Mill to see how it is operating today. Relax and roast marshmallows and enjoy some seasonal cider. Come early to paint your own pumpkin from 5-6pm.

     
  • Serve the Preserve at Crossways

    9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (or when work is finished)

    Help WVWA continue our restoration efforts at Crossways Preserve. Volunteers will remove invasive plants and plant native trees and shrubs. Please wear sturdy shoes for digging. Bring a shovel and gloves if you have them; otherwise we will provide.

  • History Walk at Camp Woods

    1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

    Take a walk at Camp Woods under the towering tulip and beech trees of our most historic preserve, where General Washington camped out with his troops following the battle at Germantown. Hear about the site's interesting history and folklore.

     

  • Bird Walk at Briar Hill Preserve

    8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

    Take a walk at Briar Hill Preserve and Prophecy Creek Park with WVWA Naturalist, Margaret Rohde, and learn about bird biology and how to use field marks and behavior to identify warblers, thrushes, tanagers, and sparrows passing through on fall migration. Both beginners and experienced birders welcome!

  • Green Ribbon Gala at Tunnel Farm

    We invite you to join us at Tunnel Farm for the seventh annual Green Ribbon Gala. Each autumn, guests gather at a unique venue to enjoy an evening celebrating a legacy of conservation and land preservation in the Wissahickon Valley Watershed

  • Walk the Wissahickon

    7:15 a.m. - day-of registration opens
    $35.00 fee - cash, check, credit cards accepted
    8:00 a.m. - walk start

    Take a guided walk on the 21-mile Green Ribbon Trail and support WVWA's mission of protecting land, water and life in the Watershed. Start in North Wales and follow the Trail along Wissahickon Creek for the either 5, 8,13 or all 21 miles. All of the walks are guided and you are bussed back to the starting point.

    WVWA will receive a portion of each ticket sold for the September 22, 2016 show of ELECTILE DYSFUNCTION. Just in time for the 2016 election! This hilarious and musical new show combines presidential impressions, man on the street interviews, and more in a bid for your laughs.

    Celebrate traditions from times past at the Fall Mill Festival.  Take a tour of Montgomery County's only water-powered gristmill and experience many hands-on, family-friendly demonstrations including tin smithing, corn husk dolls, Lenni-Lenape story teller, and more.

     
  • Full Harvest Moon Walk at Willow Lake Farm

    8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

    Join us for a nighttime walk at Willow Lake Farm, under the Harvest Moon - the full moon closest to the autumn equinox. Stroll through the woods and see (and hear) the preserve in a whole new light.  We'll navigate by the light of the moon but patricipants are welcome to bring flashlights as well.

     

  • Trail Stewards Hikes - Four Mills Reserve

    Come see the ins and outs of our trails through the eyes of the Trail Stewards.  New starting this spring, our dedicated group of volunteers will lead three sessions to explore our trails.

    Deb Slater will lead this Figure 8 hike of Four Mills Nature Reserve.  Come explore the Green Ribbon Trail and its spur trails and see what sort of hidden treasures can be found here.
