  • Serve the Preserve

    9:00 a.m.

    Help WVWA continue our restoration efforts this spring at Crossways Preserve. Volunteers will remove invasive plants and plant native trees and shrubs. Please wear sturdy shoes for digging, and bring a shovel and gloves if you have them; otherwise we will provide.

  • Rain Barrel Program

    7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

    Purchase a professional, locally made, rain barrel from Camels Hump Rain Barrels.  Learn how to hook up and care for your rain barrel, retaining runoff and reusing the water in your garden!

  • From Soup to Owls

    This program is sold out.
    6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

    Join us at WVWA Headquarters for a delicious soup dinner and presentation about owl biology and the species likely to be found in the Wissahickon. After dinner, we’ll head out for a moonlight walk at Armentrout Preserve in search of these nocturnal wonders.

  • Woodmere Winter Member's Mixer

    4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

    The Woodmere Art Museum is inviting WVWA Members and Volunteers to join them at the Winter Members Mixer.  Warm up, view their current exhibitions, and enjoy some refreshments while you mingle.

  • Maple Sugaring Festival

    Online registration is closed. Walk-in registration available at event. Best tour times available are 1:45 p.m. or later. 

    12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

    Learn how maple syrup and sugar are made - a delicious and fun way to make science come alive! WVWA offers a very special winter event that is ideal for families, scout groups and anyone curious about the maple sugar process.  Guides take small groups through the woods to see the tapped trees and then watch it being boiled into sugar. End your walk at WVWA’s historic headquarters for hot chocolate and warm treats with maple syrup. Tours last approximately 45 minutes.  Last tour leaves at 3:00 p.m.

  • Fireside Frostbite 5 Miler

    The Ambler Area Running Club proudly presents the 18th annual Frostbite Five Miler. Amenities include chip timing, great post-race food from Fireside Bar & Grille, sweatshirts if registered by January 13.  The race benefits WVWA. Register to run or volunteer - www.aarclub.com/Frostbite

  • Attracting Bluebirds

    PROGRAM RESCHEDULED for Thursday, February 16 due to weather

    7:00 p.m. 

    Betsy Nutt, Penn State Master Gardener and member of the Bluebird Society of Pennsylvania’s speaker’s bureau will give a talk on the history, biology, necessary habitat, protecting and monitoring of the bluebird.
