  • Volunteer Open House

    6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. - Rain or Shine

    All WVWA Volunteers are invited to an Open House. In the past year, 520 volunteers donated over 1600 hours of service to WVWA. Please join us to celebrate all that you do to support WVWA and learn about upcoming opportunities in a variety of program areas.

  • Evans-Mumbower Mill Open House

    Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social

    1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
    Take a break from the heat and join us for a cool treat and a tour of the water-powered gristmill.  

  • Nature Stroll at Crossways Preserve

    1:30 p.m.

    The 57 acres of Crossways Preserve offers meadows with native grasses and wildflowers, stands of towering hardwood trees, and wetlands with cattails. Join us for a guided walk through this beautiful landscape, and learn about ecological succession and meadow ecology while looking for birds and butterflies.

  • Bird Walk at Willow Lake Farm

    8:00 a.m.

    Willow Lake offers breeding habitat for over 40 bird species. By late June, many are nesting and already beginning to raise young. Come learn about these nesting birds and how fledglings are cared for, and see how many species you can see and hear!

  • Butterfly Walk

    10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

    Join Blaine Rothauser to discover the many varieties of butterflies that might be found in the meadows of Willow Lake Farm. A brief talk about meadow ecology will be followed  by a natural history tour and adventure. 

  • Moths - The Silent Majority

    7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

    Back by popular demand! Discover the mysterious creatures of the night that fly under the cover of darkness with Blaine Rothauser, a lifetime naturalist and biologist who is President of BR Environmental Services.  Join us at the WVWA headquarters for a talk and slide show about moths followed by moth “catching" at the Crossways Preserve.


  • Tex Mex 5k Race for Open Space

    Online registration is closed. Bibs available until sold-out at packet pick-up - view details.

    Come for the race and stay for the Party-Under-the-Starts.  Register to run the race or volunteer and enjoy dinner, music and a Tex Mex Margarita.  Registration opens April 1!

  • Evans-Mumbower Mill Open House

    Antique Fire Truck Show

    1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

    Bring Dad (and Mom too!) to see a variety of antique fire trucks for Father’s Day. Take a tour of the mill to see the only water-powered gristmill in Montgomery County. You can also take a ride around the neighborhood on a fire truck.

  • Pine Barrens Discovery Tour


    11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

    Join us for a unique exploration of the Pine Barren’s diverse ecosystems. Guided by Pinelands Adventures Naturalist, John Volpa, we’ll hike and paddle along the edges of the Mullica River and discover its many secrets.

    How to provide wild foods for wild birds 12 months a year!
    There are two ways to feed birds – buying birdseed and filling feeders every few days…or by planting the plants they will eat for years or even generations to come.  Learn what plants our native birds look to for food, shelter and nesting.
