Mason Bees

7:00 p.m. - Program Full

Mason Bees: The hardest working bees everyone should have in their backyard!

Join local beekeeper and WVWA board member Scott Bartow as he shares the benefits and importance of native pollinators known as Mason and Leafcutter Bees.   Learn why these beautiful insects are considered "stingless bees" and why they are better pollinators than the honey bee.  Scott will discuss how easy it is to attract and maintain mason bees as well as their overall importance to the environment in a time when the honey bee population is in decline.  A limited number of mason bee houses will be for sale after the talk with a portion of the proceeds going to WVWA.
