The Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association’s Green Ribbon Trail, which has been closed due to the Upper Gwynedd sewer line project, will be re-opening soon.
The trail is still closed from Parkside Place in Upper Gwynedd to the entrance at West Prospect Avenue in North Wales. The trail is presently open from the entrance at the end of West Prospect Avenue heading south or downstream.
The sewer line work is done, but the contractor is still restoring the Trail surface and adjacent areas. Once done, the Trail will have its usual grass surface, and the areas next to the Trail will be planted with wildflowers and native grasses. This will provide food and habitat for a host of animals and be beautiful as well.
The seeding work is taking place now, but WVWA asks that walkers stay off the Trail until July 1, to give the grass trail time to get re-established.
