Wissahickon: Worth Preserving
The Preservation of a Pennsylvania Watershed

The Wissahickon Creek, its valley and its cultural artifacts have inspired preservation efforts for more than 150 years. Fifty-two years ago the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association joined the Natural Lands Trust, Fairmount Park Commission and the Friends of the Wissahickon in their important conservation work. , Jamie Stewart, a second-generation member of the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association Board of Directors, preserves and celebrates the details of life along the Wissahickon Creek. This visual tour down the Wissahickon Creek includes photos of the elusive Virginia Rail, majestic Peregrine Falcon, timeless Evans- Mumbower Mill and many more highlighting the flora and fauna of the Watershed. These extraordinary images help to tell the story of the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association and vividly illustrate why the Creek and its valley are worth preserving.

Available from WVWA and select stores for $45. Please email info@wvwa.org or call 215-646-8866 and watch this site for book signing events.
